Community Information

  • Message to the Andover Community…

Community members, faculty, staff and students are invited to attend a presentation by Alfred State College students enrolled in Professor William Dean’s Architecture and Design Department’s fourth-year Urban Design Studio course.  The title of the project and presentation is "Connecting Past and Present: A Vision for Preservation, Sustainability and Growth in the Village of Andover."

This presentation is open to the public and will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, October 29, at the Andover Village Office.

Students in the class have been working closely with the Village of Andover, the Andover Historical Society, the Allegany County Historical Society, community representatives, and design professionals to learn about Andover. The goal of the project is to identify strategies that build on Andover’s history and natural beauty, along with its strong cultural connection to agriculture and the arts, to create a more economically and socially vibrant, walkable, and connected community.
