Gabe Grossman (ACS Class of 2020) took First Place at the 2019 NYS Area I SkillsUSA Technical Drafting Competition held at Alfred State College on Tuesday, March 5. Juniors and seniors from all over Western New York were challenged to create a complete set of working drawings and assemblies for the manufacture of a specified mechanical part. Gabe’s skill with Autodesk Inventor, mechanical understanding, and attention to detail catapulted him into the first place spot above 18 other competitors.
Gabe is enrolled in the Pre-Engineering program at the Belmont Career and Technical Education Center where he studies Technical Drawing, Engineering Systems, Manufacturing Processes, and Digital Electronics. His interest in engineering and mechanical drawing was originally sparked by his technology studies at Andover.
Andover Central School student, Fiona Brown, was named February 2019 student of the month in nurse assisting for having shown exceptional skill and ability in career and technical education at Wildwood BOCES.

Important Information to Parents About Social Media Challenge
As you may or may not know, there is a fairly new social media challenge that targets young children and teenagers called the Momo Challenge. The challenge has surfaced in our community within the past week and has caused concern across the country because of its disturbing nature. We would like to share some information about the challenge and urge you to monitor your children’s use of social media and more particularly, YouTube.
