Weekly Pediatric Physical Therapy with Myranda Gumtow PT, DPT All you will need for this outdoor physical activity game of memory are paper plates! You will need to draw on all of the paper plates (you can have as few or as many as you want) but make sure that 2 plates have the same drawing or pattern so that you can match them! This is also a good craft project since you can draw whatever you want on the plates! Ones the plates are designed you are going to mix them up or spread them out, if it is nice out this game is a great one for outdoors Then you just have to find the matches and be creative! - Crab walk until you find a match - Skip until you find a match - Bear walk until you find a match - Gallop until you find a match - Run until you find a match You can also add exercises into this as well, for example, “If you do not find a match in 5 tries, you have to do 10 jumping jacks!”

Weekly Pediatric Physical Therapy with Myranda Gumtow PT, DPT Last week our weekly PT game focused on throwing, this week is kicking Kicking and Balance Game! What you will need: A ball and plastic cups Step 1: Label the cups • You can do numbers or letters, this can be a good activity for spelling and math • Letters: have the kids spell a word that way they have to aim at a certain letter • Numbers: have them aim at a certain number OR give them a sum of 2 numbers and have them knock over the cups that add to get that number Step 2: Play around and be creative This is a good activity to work on balance and coordination as well as incorporating an educational component!

Weekly Pediatric Physical Therapy from Myranda Gumtow PT, DPT This week's game involves throwing at a target! It is the shapes bullseye game! All you will need is tape and something to throw (if you do not have a ball, you can always use balled up socks!) • First on the floor you will use the tape to draw different shapes inside of each other (like the target above) • Example: Square on the outside, then triangle, then circle • Each shape is a different number of points • if they throw it in the square it is 2 points • Triangle 3 points • Circle 4 points • Then add their total points up at the end, they can either try to beat their own highest score or play against someone To make this a little bit harder you can tape the shapes on the wall instead of on the floor!

Important Update from Andover Central School: Starting tomorrow, Thursday, April 9th, our breakfast and lunch distribution and delivery schedule will be on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 to 9:30 am. Pick up will continue to be from the exterior cafeteria doors behind the school. Meals for each of the 5 days will continue to be served with double meals distributed on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This change from 5 days down to 3 days per week is in response to our continuing effort to help keep our students, staff and community safe by limiting exposure and will continue until school reopens. As a reminder, free breakfast and lunch is available for all students and their household members under 18 years old. You do not need to sign up for meals unless you are requesting home delivery. On Monday, Governor Cuomo extended the directive for schools to stay closed until April 29th. On Tuesday, the New York State Department of Education announced that all Regents Exams that were scheduled for June are cancelled. As reported previously, all NYS assessments for grades 3-8 have been cancelled as well. Please see the ACS website for more information regarding the cancellation of these exams. Please contact Jennifer Joyce at jjoyce@andovercsd.org with any questions.
