4th Grade Rockwell Museum Field Trip

The 4th grade class recently embarked on an educational field trip to the Rockwell Art Museum in Corning, where they delved into the rich world of Haudenosaunee art and artifacts. The students had the opportunity to explore a variety of items, including animal pelts and everyday objects that provided a tangible connection to the native peoples they have been studying in social studies. This hands-on experience was further enriched by a creative activity where students crafted their own husk dolls, learning about the cultural significance of the dolls' traditionally faceless design. Such an immersive experience not only deepened their understanding but also brought their classroom lessons to life. Be sure to check out some of the wonderful photos from their field trip, courtesy of Ms. Gennes!
