Effective immediately and at least for the remainder of this week, July 15th-19th, students must be dropped off and picked up out back of the building by the cafeteria doors due to construction happening on Elm Street. The kids continued to enjoy the 2024 Summer SOAR Program during Week 2 (July 8-11, 2024). During Week 2, not only did they enjoy the program, but they also enjoyed a visit from the Tanglewood Nature Center & Museum, attended an Olean Oilers baseball game, and visited the Genesee Country Village & Museum in Mumford. Dear Andover School Families - The Summer SOAR program will resume tomorrow, July 24th. Students must be dropped off and picked up in the front parking lot of the school until further notice. To enter the front parking area, please enter using the Church Street entrance near the large playground, as the front main parking entrance will be blocked off. There will also be no access to the back parking lot or back entrances of the school building. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Autumn was selected as a recipient of the One Pride Superstar March award. This means she's doing an awesome job of showing kindness, respect, and being helpful to others. We're very proud of Autumn for how well she does at school and how well she shows her panther pride!

New Influencers making a difference in 1st and 2nd grade PE at Andover Central School.

Andover Central School is pleased to announce Makaila Brewster as the Valedictorian for the Class of 2024. In addition to attending ACS and being a member of the ACS National Honor Society, she also is heavily involved in school-based athletics and volunteering within the community. Makaila is currently enrolled in several college-level courses and attends the weekly Government Internship at the Belmont BOCES Center. For all four years of her high school career, she has been a dedicated member of the soccer, basketball, and softball teams, demonstrating strong leadership skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship both on and off the field. Makaila has been an active member of the Music Department, Drama Club, and National Honor Society. Makaila’s enthusiasm for music is evident through her participation in both the chorus and band programs. Her musical talents have enriched our school community, and her commitment to perfecting her skills is truly commendable. Notably, she has also participated in the all-county music program, showcasing her abilities and passion for music beyond our school's walls. Beyond her academic and extracurricular commitments, Makaila consistently demonstrates a strong sense of community spirit through her volunteer work. She generously volunteers her time to assist with organizing dinners at the school and in the wider community, exemplifying her dedication to giving back and supporting others. During her junior year, she was awarded the Bausch and Lomb Honorary Science Award, Frank McKibben Award, Bonnie Scholarship Award, George H. Ball Community Achievement Award, and Women in STEM award through RIT. Makaila is the daughter of Jacob and Angela Brewster. Makaila plans to attend St. Bonaventure University for Biochemistry in the fall of 2024. We are also pleased to announce Louis Simon as the Salutatorian for the Class of 2024. Louis has consistently excelled in his courses, demonstrating a strong work ethic and a genuine passion for learning. Beyond his academic pursuits, Louis is actively involved in extracurricular activities, particularly in the drama club and the National Honor Society. In the drama club, he has proven himself to be a talented and dedicated performer, captivating audiences with his stage presence and commitment to his craft. His involvement in the National Honor Society further attests to his strong character and leadership skills, as he consistently contributes to various service projects and initiatives in our school community. Louis is a positive influence on his peers and is well-respected among students and faculty alike for his kindness, integrity, and willingness to help others. His academic awards include the Bonnie Scholarship Award, George H. Ball Community Achievement Award, Xerox Award for Innovation and Information Technology and the RIT Computing Award. Louis is the son of Neal Simon and Heather Simon and plans to attend Alfred State to study Computer Information Technology in the fall of 2024. Congratulations to Makaila and Louis, who have worked hard to earn this honor and should be very proud of their accomplishments.

Some of our kindergarten class enjoyed using materials from BOCES play kits, during free time today. They followed picture directions to construct a cabin with plastic logs. They were super proud of what they built together! ☺️ 🔨 🪵
