Dear Andover School Families - There will be no afterschool SOAR program this Thursday, April 18th, 2024. Middle School and High School tutoring will still be available until 4:00 PM, and the pool will be open until 5:30 PM. There will only be a 4:00 PM late bus, so please plan transportation arrangements accordingly for your child. Dear Andover School Families - Starting Monday, April 15, 2024, buses will go back to the original pickup times. Bus will no longer be 5 minutes early in the morning. The BOCES/Scio bus #81 will leave at 7:35 a.m. and the Cuba Academy bus will be leaving at 7:30 a.m. Cuba Academy students will be riding bus #80 (the original bus that went to Cuba). Our Modified Games for tonight have been postponed to 5/15 at 6pm in Andover. Our Varsity Games for tomorrow have been postponed to next Saturday at 11am in Andover. Our Modified Teams will not practice tonight. Our Varsity Softball practice will now be in Andover from 4:15-5:45.

Andover Central School is pleased to announce Makaila Brewster as the Valedictorian for the Class of 2024. In addition to attending ACS and being a member of the ACS National Honor Society, she also is heavily involved in school-based athletics and volunteering within the community. Makaila is currently enrolled in several college-level courses and attends the weekly Government Internship at the Belmont BOCES Center. For all four years of her high school career, she has been a dedicated member of the soccer, basketball, and softball teams, demonstrating strong leadership skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship both on and off the field. Makaila has been an active member of the Music Department, Drama Club, and National Honor Society. Makaila’s enthusiasm for music is evident through her participation in both the chorus and band programs. Her musical talents have enriched our school community, and her commitment to perfecting her skills is truly commendable. Notably, she has also participated in the all-county music program, showcasing her abilities and passion for music beyond our school's walls. Beyond her academic and extracurricular commitments, Makaila consistently demonstrates a strong sense of community spirit through her volunteer work. She generously volunteers her time to assist with organizing dinners at the school and in the wider community, exemplifying her dedication to giving back and supporting others. During her junior year, she was awarded the Bausch and Lomb Honorary Science Award, Frank McKibben Award, Bonnie Scholarship Award, George H. Ball Community Achievement Award, and Women in STEM award through RIT. Makaila is the daughter of Jacob and Angela Brewster. Makaila plans to attend St. Bonaventure University for Biochemistry in the fall of 2024. We are also pleased to announce Louis Simon as the Salutatorian for the Class of 2024. Louis has consistently excelled in his courses, demonstrating a strong work ethic and a genuine passion for learning. Beyond his academic pursuits, Louis is actively involved in extracurricular activities, particularly in the drama club and the National Honor Society. In the drama club, he has proven himself to be a talented and dedicated performer, captivating audiences with his stage presence and commitment to his craft. His involvement in the National Honor Society further attests to his strong character and leadership skills, as he consistently contributes to various service projects and initiatives in our school community. Louis is a positive influence on his peers and is well-respected among students and faculty alike for his kindness, integrity, and willingness to help others. His academic awards include the Bonnie Scholarship Award, George H. Ball Community Achievement Award, Xerox Award for Innovation and Information Technology and the RIT Computing Award. Louis is the son of Neal Simon and Heather Simon and plans to attend Alfred State to study Computer Information Technology in the fall of 2024. Congratulations to Makaila and Louis, who have worked hard to earn this honor and should be very proud of their accomplishments.

Some of our kindergarten class enjoyed using materials from BOCES play kits, during free time today. They followed picture directions to construct a cabin with plastic logs. They were super proud of what they built together! ☺️ 🔨 🪵
