Environmental technology students visited the Mills' Maple Operation on March 18, 2024, to learn about commercial syrup production. Mill's maple taps over 18,000 trees and has produced over 5,000 gallons of syrup this season. Our students were able to tour the sugar house and see the entire process from collection to the final product. Environmental tech made some syrup this year at school with 10 trees around campus. Next year, we plan on using our school's newly constructed evaporator to explore the science of maple syrup production.
