📢 Job Opportunity: Long-Term Substitute Elementary AIS Teacher (Math)
Andover Central School District is seeking a dedicated Long-Term Substitute Math Academic Intervention Services (AIS) Teacher for our elementary students. This position is set for October 2026 through December 2026, with applications closing on August 14, 2026.
Role Overview: As a Substitute Math AIS Teacher, you'll play a crucial role in providing targeted math support to students working below grade-level benchmarks. You will deliver small-group interventions, reinforce foundational math concepts, and ensure continuous progress monitoring during the primary AIS teacher's leave.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct Tier 3 math interventions using hands-on manipulatives.
Foster a positive, low-anxiety learning environment to build students' confidence and resilience.
Administer progress-monitoring checks and maintain precise records for the returning teacher.
Collaborate with classroom teachers and communicate effectively with grade-level teams.
Requirements:
Valid New York State Teaching Certificate.
Compensation:
Retired ACS Teachers: $160.00 per day
Certified Substitutes: $145.00 per day
Additional $50.00 per day for lesson planning.
